Fine Art Conservation and Restoration
by Christyl Cusworth
A Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works.
Christyl Cusworth is dedicated to the preservation of traditional oil paintings, sculptures, objects, and murals.
We are located in the center of historic Lambertville, New Jersey. Just over the river from New Hope, PA., home of the Bucks County Impressionists. An equal distance between Philadelphia and New York City, Lambertville has long been a mecca of Art and Antiques.
We are certified by the American Institute of Conservation and bound by their code of ethics and guidelines for treatment practices. This ensures the most appropriate treatment processes are performed in order to maintain both the aesthetic and monetary value of your artwork and investment. By using the best contemporary practices, reversible materials, vacuum hot-table and expertise, paintings are examined, diagnosed and treated. They are tediously transformed back into the treasures they were meant to be.
Our client list includes museums, educational institutions, auction houses, fine art & antique dealers, interior designers and private collectors from all walks of life.
We offer free consultations, verbal estimates and referrals for related services.
Our Conservation Processes
In compliance with the American Institute of Conservation
Based on an initial examination, a recommended treatment proposal is presented. This describes the best course of treatment and materials as well as an estimated cost. Our goal is to conserve the painting with the least amount of invasiveness. We provide process techniques, objectives of treatment, and alternative approaches to give you a custom estimate based on the needs of your piece.
