Portrait of Claude-Adolphe Monet, the Artist's Father

It is presently owned by a small museum and is listed in his Raisonné. Cusworth Conservation conserved it for a retrospective in Paris in March of 2023.
Applied Treatment
The painting had previously been lined with wax. The old wax lining was breaking down and had lumps of wax between the lining and the painting. There is visible cracking of the paint layer. There was some extensive and somewhat unnecessary old retouching that was visible under ultra-violet light which was cleaned. The lining was repaired and framed in preparation for the Paris show.
